What Size Should You Choose for a Newborn Gift?
Looking for the perfect newborn gift but not sure which clothing size to choose? Here are a few tips to help you pick the right size.
When buying clothes for a newborn, we recommend choosing a size that the baby will be able to wear for a little longer. Sizes 6 months and up are a particularly good choice, allowing parents to enjoy each new outfit as their baby grows.
For example:
- A 3-month-old baby will generally wear 6M, which they can usually wear until around 6 months. For a baby born between September and December, a 6M outfit is a great choice for the winter season. You can also choose 12M for a mid-season outfit or for the warmer months ahead.
- A 12-month-old baby will generally wear 18M, which they can usually wear until around 18 months. For a baby born between March and May, a 6M outfit can be a lovely choice for summer, while a 12M outfit will be suitable for the following winter.
Our Tip for Choosing a Baby Birth Gift
If you’re unsure which baby clothing size to choose, we recommend opting for 6 months or larger. New parents especially appreciate receiving baby clothes in bigger sizes that their little one can wear as they grow.
Each new outfit becomes part of an important milestone, making it a thoughtful newborn gift that can be enjoyed a little later and treasured as a beautiful memory of baby’s early years.
